Possible reasons why you may not have received your payment
Your system hasn’t produced 1 MWh yet
Each time your system produces 1 MWh in solar production, you will receive 1 renewable energy certificate (REC) which will be invoiced in a monthly cycle. Please note that there may be some months (like in the winter) when your system produces less than 1 MWh.
You haven’t reported your meter readings in GATS
We cannot issue payments unless you are regularly reporting your meter readings in GATS (https://www.pjm-eis.com/) as we rely on their database to determine when you are eligible for a payment. How to enter meter readings into GATS.
Please note you should not be providing readings from your utility meter in GATS. Your meter readings should instead be coming from a dedicated, solar production meter that your installer equipped your system with. You should also be reporting the lifetime solar production reading for your facility which will always be increasing. You can obtain your readings either from the physical solar production meter installed for your system or, if applicable, the online monitoring dashboard which tracks production.
If you have questions about how to obtain your meter readings or how to access your online monitoring dashboard, you must contact your installer directly for guidance as they have the most knowledge regarding the exact configuration of your system (i.e. equipment, layout, etc). We are happy to provide general guidance regarding this but each system is unique.
Your generation hasn’t been processed by GATS
It takes approximately 7 business days for GATS to issue certificates once you have entered a meter reading in their portal. If GATS has any questions or concerns with your entry they will email you directly, and it is your responsibility to address any outstanding issues. You must contact the GATS admin staff directly by phone at 1-877-750-4287 or via email at [email protected] to resolve any issues.
Your payment has not been invoiced
Certificate payments can take approximately 6-8 weeks to be received starting on the date the certificate was assigned the Payment Pending status. Per the Payment Process Diagram, the New Jersey electric utility companies have 35 days to review and approve invoices each month. Certificates under review are assigned the Payment Pending status. Once an invoice is approved by the utilities, it will be assigned the Payment Transfer Initiated, and may take up to 10 days for the payment to reach your bank account.
